You're a Hard Habit to Break

It's official. I can't go a day without drinking coffee. Twice now in the last few weeks, I've forgotten to have a cup, and the first time it sent me spiraling into a nasty headache. Last night I was freaking exhausted, and this morning I woke up feeling hungover. So then Shannon said to me "Did you have coffee yesterday?" Bah! No! So I just had some, and I feel great. Sheesh.

Though I know I could be addicted to worse things.

"Harry, I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don't plan it. Don't wait for it. Just let it happen. It could be a new shirt at the men's store, a catnap in your office chair, or two cups of good, hot black coffee."

Ha! I tried to give up coffee and it lasted three days. Also, I just watched that episode of Twin Peaks a few days ago. Damn fine coffee! Damn fine!

Coffee is a very cheap drug that I accept as a part of my life. However, before my friend Kristi was about to have brain scans done for her debilitating migraines, her dr. said "Try cutting out all caffeine, and we'll just see." They went away. Now she lives a sad sad life without coffee (and migraines).
